superbloom

Slowly, then suddenly, the Santa Monica Mountains have come alive this spring with an unprecedented expanse of wildflowers. Some of the seeds have been dormant for years, waiting for enough moisture. Some plants are fire followers sparked by the intense heat, others are flourishing in the wide open landscape cleared by flames.
